SCiM 2022 Workshops

Workshop 1:


  • In the pre-production part, we are going to take a look at all professions, writing scenarios, recording organization and everything that comes along with them.
  • In the production part, we are goind to focus on camera operation, framing and actual recording.
  • In the post-production part we will get to know the tools with which we complete all projects to get their final look.

We will take a look at photography, graphic design, green screen techniques and many other fun things from the film and television world. At the end of the workshop, each participant will be ready to try their hand at creating short video content and maybe make a film of their own.

You don’t need any equipment for this workshop, we will provide everything. 

About the lecturer:

Adrian Drago Poprijan, is a student of Media Communications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Maribor. As a director, cameraman and editor, he is involved in film and television production. He works independently and for the production teams of “Decipi films”, “Videocrew SI” and “RTV Slovenia”, where he gains experience and knowledge under the wings of renowned experts. His film entitled “Poker” won the first prize at the “KD Paka film” film festival.

Workshop 2:


“Building confidence through improvisation” is an interactive workshop that uses improv theatre, a form of theatre that is spontaneous and doesn’t have a script, for improving one’s confidence and everyday interactions. The participants will learn different improvisational theatre and stage presence techniques through which they will gain more confidence and reassurance in themselves. The workshop will have the participants try many different fun improv games and won’t be a usual sit-down lecture. The participants will also connect with each other and surely form friendships during the time spent together. Each day of the workshop will be different and have different techniques, games and theatre sports used to develop different abilities – from speaking to group dynamics. But most importantly the workshops will be a lot of fun, full of laughter and humor. 

You don’t need any equipment for this workshop, we will provide everything. 

About the lecturer:

Eva Štingl is an informatics student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Maribor. In her free time she loves to travel, spend time with her friends and trying new hobbies. She has been improvising for more than 8 years and is very excited to share her knowledge and skills with you at the conference.  

Workshop 3:


Social media is a very important part of our lives today, both on a personal and professional level. At the workshop itself, participants will get everything from general information to practical tips and tricks. We will get to know and define the key elements of social media communication strategies and learn how to get started, how to create quality content, communicate with the target audience, and measure results. We will definitely adapt the workshop to the needs of the participants themselves.

You need a laptop for this workshop.

About the lecturers:

Nina and Nino Planinšek are brother and sister, and no, their parents were not original with their names :D. They both love travelling, sports, food and of course good company. Nino has just completed his master’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Maribor, while Nina is still pursuing her master’s degree of Media Communications at at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Maribor. They are both already looking forward to the workshops and spending time with you!

Workshop 4:


In this workshop you are going to get an introduction to the operation and functions of social networks and other digital channels. You are going to understand the logic of algorithms, that will allow you to critically define online content. You will also learn more about digital marketing. In the practical part, you will learn how to create multimedia content with the help of the Canva tool, manage and advertise on the social networks Facebook, Instagram and Youtube with the help of the Meta for Business and Google Ads tools. After the workshop, you will be trained to independently prepare and implement a digital campaign. The workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about social networks and their use for commercial purposes. The workshop is a great starting point for anyone who wants to engage in digital marketing in the future. It is also suitable for anyone who wants to build a personal brand and monetize social networks with referral or influencer marketing. Or simply for those who want to understand social networks in more detail and escape the traps that lurk on us out there.

About the lecturer:

Vid Horvat worked as a PR representative and social media manager for multiple non-government organizations during his high school and college years. In 2013 he attended a course on digital marketing and ever since then it was a part of his daily life. Three years ago he started working as a digital marketing consultant. During this time he helped over 35 clients and gave multiple lectures and held workshops on digitalization and digital marketing.  

He strives to get away from the negative stigma about advertising and is an advocate of ethical, transparent and innovative marketing. Marketing should be about putting the right information in front of right people – not with clickbait, but with the correct choice of words.
